Last night I had a very fun time with a woman I work with, her roommate, and a room full of people at Quimby's bookstore. J (the woman I work with) has a piece in Mildred Pierce, the(maga)zine having a release party. I especially liked a story read by Vicky Lim about an encounter with a man in Walgreens.
While there, I snagged a new paperback collection of interviews with Nick Cave:

I love that photo of NC and PJ Harvey, but I don't like any of the songs I've heard from PJH's new album Let England Shake. I hate to hear a good, deep, rich, strong woman voice go all squeaky and girlish I guess.
